#Google is now surfacing notable artwork from DeviantArt on their "In The News" section. (In addition to Reddit and other "non-news" sites.)

Here's an example of PatrickBrown's Marvel Villains illustration appearing in search results:

I just noticed this today and these are the only examples I've seen so far, but Google says that virtually any content can show up in this section if deemed newsworthy.

This is awesome! boc0 worked on artwork for Assassin's Creed: Identity.

Last year has been an amazing year for me artwise. Among other things, I got to work with Wideshot on the Assassin's Creed franchise (Identity in particular), which was of course an incredible experience. Now that the NDA is lifted I can finally show some of that work, so here's one of two pieces I did for it. The War of Cambrai.

The Cabinet by immanuel
Finnish photographer Juha Arvid Helminen conveys a message on the misuse of power in politics and religion in his dark, faceless portrait series, "The Invisible Empire."
"In 2006 I witnessed the so called Smash ASEM demonstration in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki. I personally experienced the dark side of the Finnish police, with young men hiding behind their uniforms and hoods, anonymously committing misconduct. Later I also witnessed the reluctance of the justice system to punish those in uniform.

Uniforms create unity and through them we can for example tell apart a soldier from a civilian. The dark side is the seeming justification to violence and the possibility to disappear in the masses when we do something truly evil.

We wear clothes dictated by religion, political thoughts and tradition to communicate and represent authority but also as a sign of belonging and our ideologies. Often this can mask our true persona and create boundaries between us and the people we meet. The characters in my works are prisoners of these traditions and the walls we have created for ourselves. How close can we, the viewers, get to them, when they have been stripped of so much of their personality?"

— Juha Arvid Helminen

Excuse me sir. I don't quite understand who you are. But I'm not here to hate on the new layout but here to simply ask. Will there be an option for changing to the old layout for those who like it? I mean I'm not a very hateful person to those who've done nothing wrong. However like most people I don't really like this new layout. Thank you for your time and I apologize for wasting it if this was already answered. Thanks again.

GUYS. Stop attacking the admins about the new layout. This is an art website. And the layout should not matter!!!
Imagine being the admin and you made a change to your website. Then you receive over 1,000 hate messages.

Just stop. Don't attack them JFC.

Let me just tell you all as a fellow deviant, if there is gonna be such thing as Great Account Deactivation, then be ready for it fully because it will not be pretty. I already feel its effects because of all "let`s fix what`s not broken" changes imposed here that really makes my nose shiver of all other social websites that already have these changes.
Just a piece of my mind and a fair warning in the case the Great Account Deactivation really occurs.

ladyldisco said that "You should at least give users an option on whether or not they'd like to stick with the changes you're trying to shove down our throats.
Some people don't like change, it's as simple as that. And forcing change suddenly on users will lead many people to just quit the website and not deal with them at all. And while the website may look good to you, it doesn't mean that it looks good to everyone else! For me personally, everything is HUGE. I can't stand it, and I'd rather not look at it.

If you provide users with an option to stick with the "old" layout verses the new layout, then you'd get a lot of happy people on your website. Please, consider this. "

I completely agree.

(not that they'll care, instead they'll be happier managing less accounts I guess?)

They truly... never... ever... do.

Lower level moderators are much worse, they never fix harassment issues in a timely manner, and sometimes even blow the people off asking for help. :/
