One of the most common requests we received upon launching Commissions was to raise the price cap to make it higher than 4,000 Points. As of today, the price limit when setting up Commissions has been raised from 4,000 Points to 8,000 Points.

We're excited to see the increased usage of the Commissions platform and the wide variety of work that artists have been offering. With this increased limit, we're hoping to give artists more flexibility with the types of Commissions they offer, and more importantly, allow artists to earn more for their high-quality creations!

We see bugs every day, but we never really take a moment to take a closer look.

The other day I came across Colin Hutton on deviantART, a remarkably talented photographer specializing in "high magnification macro photography of insects and other small creatures." His work is absolutely stunning. The colors, contrasts, and backdrops behind his subjects are simply amazing.

Colin joined deviantART just 3 months ago. Go check out his gallery and watch him!

“The ocean is such a boundless source of inspiration for myself and many other people, in all fields. Unfortunately, I am also very concerned about the fragile state of it’s very complex eco-system.

I wanted to bring to the surface, and illuminate the growing problem of plastic polluting our oceans in a way that makes people inspired to help. We have a floating island of plastic garbage in the Pacific that is twice the size of Texas. Up to 70 percent of this plastic is below the surface, broken down into tiny pieces, becoming a toxic part of the eco-system. Countless fish and birds die from mistaking these bits for food."

77794 Bergoglio1 by $danlev

Here's a 2010 #equalitopia article by `r0b where the newly elected Pope Francis (Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio) describes gay marriage as being the work of the devil:
Argentina’s highest-ranking Catholic prelate has warned that the country’s gay marriage bill is a “machination” of the devil, reports Pink News.

Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio has called on priests in Buenos Aires, where he is archbishop, to protest against the bill, which is progressing through Argentina’s parliament.

In a letter to the monasteries of Buenos Aires, he wrote: “Let’s not be naive, we’re not talking about a simple political battle; it is a destructive pretension against the plan of God .. We are not talking about a mere bill, but rather a machination of the Father of Lies that seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God.”

David Kadavy The following was posted to Quora by David Kadavyauthor of designforhackers.com.

There are some rarely-mentioned classifications, and ways that typefaces are structured that greatly affect the "mood" of that typeface.

Most people are familiar with "serif" and "sans-serif" typefaces (sans-serif meaning it doesn't have those little feet on the end of each stroke of the letter). Serif typefaces tend to look more formal and "older," while sans-serif typefaces tend to look more modern. But, the underlying shape of the letterforms do even more to affect the mood.

Letter Structure Types
There are three more common "letter structures" that many typefaces are based upon.

Humanist
Humanist typefaces have subtle curves and tend to look "friendly." The structure of the letters are based off of hand-drawn letterforms. For example, if you were to draw an "O" with a pen, it wouldn't be completely round. Humanist typefaces tend to be good for non-profits, healthcare, or anything else where you want a "human" look.

Gill Sans and Palatino are a couple of Humanist typefaces.

Geometric
Geometric typefaces are on the other end of the spectrum in that the letter structures are based upon geometry. They can be the kind of typeface with a completely round "O," like the examples above, or they can be something like Bodoni, which has strong contrasts of thick and thin, and is used in nearly every fashion magazine (Bodoni is built by geometrically rationalizing serif letterforms).

Geometric typefaces tend to look very modern and fashionable. They'd be good for content that is math or engineering related, or – as noted – fashion related.

Realist
Realist typefaces fall somewhere in between the hand-derived letterforms of Humanist typefaces, and the geometric rationalization of Geometric typefaces. Realist typefaces have more abrupt curves, and give a sense of rationality and stability.

The beloved Helvetica is a realist typeface, and has a sense of being visually inert – almost "invisible."
