Seniority Announcement - June 2012This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 900 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.:faq29:So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community. Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice t
Art History - Interview with Astralseed:iconarthistoryproject: :iconcommunityrelations: Aspart of Traditional Art History Month I will be interviewing some of the Traditional Art Community, including your lovely TradART CommunityVolunteers Today it's the delightful ^Astralseed, your Community Volunteer for Traditional Art:iconAstralseed:Hi ^Astralseed, tell us a little about yourself and your style of Art. Hi I'm Katy and I am not very good at talking about myself . As far as my art style goes, I don't really feel that I have a particular style so to speak. I like to dabble in any and all areas of art which I possibly can and just absorb it all like a sponge. I think the style will follow eventually when I am more comfortable with the basics. What is it that attracts you to Traditional Art?Traditional art offers a lot of variety and options.
Not So Traditional Tuesdays #4My plan is to keep the features fresh for me(and you) and maybe open a few eyes to all the different kinds of artwork that is available while browsing the deviantArt galleries. The things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorporate that into your own work. It could be the difference between stagnating and that breakthrough every artist wants to find!**WARNING:Viewing these works of art may cause giddiness, elevated heart rates, and happiness in the pants(which could lead to blindness)! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!** :thumb330
Traditional Tuesdays #39Howdy peeps? Welcome to edition 39 of Traditional Tuesdays (yep, on a Wednesday again, oops). This week, like all of the other weeks, I'll be featuring fifteen works of art from the Traditional Gallery. Any more than that might and you might loss interest or it could cause your monitor to fail in an explosion of awesomeness. I would feel guilty if that were to happen, so I'm keeping it at fifteen! The Traditional gallery is a vast storeroom of work that covers many mediums and genres. I've tried to show a good mix of artwork, but I don't have room for them all. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!**WARNING:Viewing these works of art may cause giddiness, elevated heart rates, andhappiness in the pants(which could lead to blindness)! Since I really like both surreal art and the classical renaissance realism, I try my best to mix them most of the time. What is it that attracts you to Traditional Art?What I love about traditional art is its originality, and how almost everything can be done using traditional tools...How much do you think that the roots and origins of Art affect what we create today?Although that art is creating and improving, I believe that we're

I am a web designer form Hamburg, Germany. In my spare time I have always enjoyed doing any kind of art. When I was smaller I started with Watercolors and moved on to Oil, before I went to design school and focused mostly on digital art.My style… I am not sure I found it yet. Well, I am always looking for it, tho! I see finding one's style as a constant struggle. In my works you can find lots of bright colors, very often things are kept simple, minimal maybe in content or simple in composition. Mostly I try to keep away from
Artist Draws Comics of Friends' Facebook Statuses~graynate is a US-based artist who illustrates his friend's Facebook statuses. Nate submitted one of his comics to Reddit last night, and it skyrocketed to the front page with over 5,000 upvotes. An hour after submitting his comic to Reddit, a user requested that he confirm his identity as being the original artist, and challenged him:"I want to believe OP. But [your account is] 0 days old. So taking today's popular AMA into consideration...draw Adam Savage laughing at a completely shaven Jamie Hyneman."Nate accepted the drawing challenge, and posted his illustration to Reddit and
