Amazing!

To even attempt this kinda of detail, do you guys think it's all about the size of the piece? The bigger you go, the more detail, the more detail, the more realistic it will become?

I could imagine it would take me at least a month of drawing all day to even attempt a graphite drawing that size lol. I'm contemplating going a bit bigger than i'm currently using..although i definitely haven't the guts or the patience to attempt anything like this yet. :)

I really respect the skill that goes into these pictures but at the same time I don't see the point.
Yes they are about as close to the photograph as a person can get but they all started as a photo and then they end looking exactly like the photo so...what's the point?
What is the artistic statement?

Again, I really respect the discipline these type of pictures take I just don't understand them.

I kinda agree with you. I respect their ability, it is really a good form to show your skills, but I really see no meaning nor creativity nor individualism - which I think is more important in an artwork than realism.

no it's not creative, but the point is that it shows off technical skill level and it's very impressive and takes a lot of hard work to be able to do this. and it's a fun optical illusion too.

That's really what it's about, the discipline is the statement. It can be a tremendous effort to recreate a image with your own hands. While I wouldn't advocate being a 'copy machine' when it comes to drawing, there are some valuable lessons learned from it. These artist have shown that they've not only mastered a medium but also pinpoint accuracy and that's a huge statement.

Since he doesnīt appear in this journal, `nimra must have changed his deviant name obviously..otherwise Iīd strongly recommend to check him out and add some of his work here since the artwork featured here is undoubtedly high class, but he is the master of hyperrealism.
